Wolverine Construction has named Nolan Spencer President, effective immediately. Spencer will lead the company's day-to-day operations and be accountable for companywide performance. Curt Mulder will continue as CEO, focusing more of his time on strategic direction, client relationships, business growth and major opportunities.
After more than 87 years, Wolverine Building Group has become Wolverine Construction. The refreshed identity brings greater clarity to the company's name, message and market presence while preserving the values and operating standards that have defined Wolverine since 1939.
Wolverine Construction is a Grand Rapids-based general contractor and construction manager serving clients across Michigan and nationwide. Founded in 1939, the company has delivered more than $7 billion in construction across 11 core markets with a team of more than 200 professionals. From 2020 to 2025, Wolverine Construction increased annual revenue by 48%, led by growth in retail, commercial and industrial construction. Wolverine's multi-unit business also experienced a significant resurgence, growing from $18.4 million in 2022 to $76.4 million in 2025. The company continues to broaden its reach and capabilities through healthcare, Southeast Michigan, trades, metal building and facilities services.
